Born December 14, 1926, Naomi “Ilean” (Worthman) Shaffer aspired to be an honorable daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ilean was daughter to Frank and Mable (Moore) Worthman and sister to Wally, Joseph, Richard, Raymond, Mary, June, Vonda, Reena, Octavia (both passed in infancy).
Ilean was married to the love of her life, Delbert Shaffer, on September 1, 1946. Shortly after the happy couple had four children. While caring for their children both Delbert and Ilean found value in working not only to support the family financially but instill in their children the importance of hard work.
Ilean was a proud wife and mother but was also a professional woman. Early in her career she was a trained hairdresser owning a few salons of her own. She went on to become a licensed realtor, a court reporter, appraiser, seller of antiquities and a published author. Ilean had many articles published in Indiana newspapers on a variety of topics.
Ilean always had an adventurous spirit, one that recently left on a new and peaceful journey to be with family and old friends.
On March 7, 2019, Ilean took her last breath and the hand of God. She was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings, her loving husband, and great grand-daughter, Zoë Manley. She leaves behind her children Debbra (Shaffer) Eichrodt, Kenneth Shaffer, David Shaffer and Nancy (Shaffer) Buschak. Ilean was proud to share with others that she had several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Ilean will be missed by all who knew her yet never forgotten.
The family plans to have a small memorial service at a later date.

Debbra and family. So sorry for your loss. Take comfort knowing she is at peace and looking down on you with her beautiful smile.
Terri Cook says
I am so very sorry to read of Naomi’s passing. May your family find peace and comfort from “the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3&4) during this difficult time. My deepest condolences.
